It appears there will be a second impeachment trial for former President Donald J. Trump.
Nancy Pelosi’s House of Representatives impeached President Trump on January 13, 2021, one week before he left office, because the security at the Capitol – where she is in charge – failed to protect life and property during a joint session of Congress.

In a nutshell, according to the single article of impeachment, President Trump is charged with “INCITEMENT OF INSURRECTION” because on January 6, 2021, he said, ‘‘we won this election, and we won it by a landslide,” while speaking at a rally; and for his words during a recorded phone call on January 2, 2021, with the Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger when he expressed his opinion about the presidential election results.
As a result of this charge, former President Trump simply needs to prove that he won the election. If he was telling the truth, here is what he should do on the day the trial begins:
- Launch a website that he controls and is securely hosted where he can post his story that people can access & share without relying on corrupt corporate media.
- Subpoena witnesses and get affidavits and perform background checks on everyone arrested in connection with the incident to prove he gave no one instructions to attack the Capitol.
- Prepare a video showing all the times during his speech that he said to peacefully protest.
- And finally, at the trial, present his full case that proves he won the election.
If Trump proves he won the election, he wins. And the Republican Party? It died the day he left office.
