A U.S. Labor Department information technology manager stands accused of accepting bribes totaling more than twenty thousand dollars in exchange for keeping his mouth shut about rampant racism, corruption and whistle blower retaliation.
An employee who demanded to remain anonymous because she filed a formal complaint that was swept under the rug and fears retaliation said, “Besides being a worthless piece poop, Aung Htein is the biggest kiss-ass on the planet. He only cares about himself.”
The complaint, which this reporter read, is expected to be was filed with the Office of Special Counsel. It says that Mr. Aung Htein, a long-tenured federal bureaucrat at the Department of Labor – has been provided with what the complaint calls “hush money” to conceal racism and corruption by his bosses Lisa Lahrman, Byron Zuidema and Portia Wu. These allegations are part of a long list of charges that Labor Secretary Thomas E. Perez has been covering up since his appointment as Secretary of Labor.
Htein and Lahrman are already faces charges for whistleblower retaliation after they discriminatorily denied promotions and other opportunities to African-American employees and retaliated against Htein’s deputy director for reporting it. That case is still pending action. Htein has also both been accused of engaging in prohibited personnel practices, and for fraudulently using federal legal resources that are funded by taxpayers for his own personal use to retaliate against a whistleblower.
Lahrman, who is an attorney, has even hired her own son – a prohibited personnel practice in the federal government – to work for her at the Department of Labor. Htein, who is a technology director at Labor is under scrutiny for contracting fraud in addition to all the other damage he is doing there.
“Htein is an incompetent federal bureaucrat and racist. Naturally, he fits in perfectly here,” said a former employee with knowledge of the situation.
Another employee who currently works for Htein said, “He’s going on training again this week, unbelievable. I think someone outside Labor should look into how these trainings are paid for when he always denies individual training requests for everyone else in his organization. He tells us that our training needs are being denied for budgetary reasons, which we know is not true because he spends all the money on himself. I think Aung has received more money in the past year for his own personal career development than anyone else in the federal government. He is a selfish bastard who only cares about himself.”
In fact, during 2016 Htein spent more than 80 percent of the entire division’s training budget on his own professional development.
A bribe is the offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting of something of value for the purpose of influencing the action of an official in the discharge of his or her public or legal duties
